Yvonne Vácha Mane

Yvonne Vácha Mane (*1969)
is a Czech-Senegalese visual artist. She graduated from the Václav Hollar Secondary School of Fine Arts and subsequently from the University of Applied Arts and Design in Prague, UMPRUM, where in the years 1987-1993 she studied in the studios of Illustration and Book Graphics with Jiří Šalamoun and Promotional Design with Zdenek Ziegler (with an M.F.A. degree). In addition to painting, he works with illustration, graphics, design, collage and objects. She also has experience in acting, dance and performance. She completed a two-month residency at MeetFactory (Open Call for Afro-Czech artists, 2020). She exhibited in galleries Artinbox, Portheimka, Topičův salon, Display, Museum Kampa and others. In 2025, she exhibited her works in the pavilion of Czech and Slovak artists, at the international art festival QIAF Doha. The author is represented in a number of private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. Her work is represented by ContempoRare Gallrey (CZ), ArtyLeo (CZ), Artinbox Gallery (CZ) and Victory Art (NL). He lives and works in Prague.

Yvonne Vácha Mane works with sharp color contrasts, with strong light and tension between black and white, as the world under the sun's rays in Africa is legible. He often composes various unusual materials into his paintings. She thus creates a layered

Statement

"The source of inspiration for me is nature and life itself. I perceive art as an inherent part of it, as a living and structured organism. 
My introspective work is based on a personal experience of searching for one's own identity between two worlds and from childhood memories of Africa. 
I explore the positions of inner mysticism and push the limits of automatism. 
I connect other sensations with the paintings, for example tactile - layers of material forming structures, they can be smells, with which I try to constantly expand simple visual views. Last but not least, it is music that accompanies the process of my work. I paint while listening to music, I also reflect its sounds in my paintings. The tones also resonate in my body, which spontaneously expresses itself through dance, which helps to express the deepest emotions. Opening different views and possibilities is very close to me. I don't suppress my inner child, I like to discover new approaches and forms.

I myself would approach my work to Orphism and synesthesia, which I embody the inner paradise. This allows me to tell a story with the work, which gradually reveals to the viewer an emotional journey into the world of dreams, fantasy...soul."
