Agáta Rut

Agáta Rut studied Aesthetics and Art History at the University of Prešov and refined her painting techniques under the guidance of renowned artists in Prague. In her work, she combines traditional painting methods with philosophical depth and symbolism, creating artworks that serve as spaces for introspection and deeper connection with the viewer.

Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including the Holandský dům Gallery in Beroun, the Šaloun Villa in Prague, and the Lampy Gallery in Bratislava. She has also participated in international projects such as Art in Prague or IFAM Global in Malaysia.

Agáta Rut’s paintings are part of private collections and curatorial projects, resonating with subtlety, depth, and a timeless artistic expression.

Statement

Agáta Rut’s work is a visual meditation on the cyclical nature of life, where painting meets silence and inner harmony. Working with oil paint allows her to slow down, immerse herself in the process, and be guided by intuition rather than adhering to a strictly defined vision. She emphasizes the significance of creation itself—an act of surrender that permeates her entire artistic practice. The use of gold leaf in her paintings symbolizes transcendence, eternity, and universal beauty.

Her work does not follow a specific artistic movement but organically develops its own distinctive style. In portraiture, she is influenced by the expressiveness of Amedeo Modigliani, combined with the spiritual paradox of Byzantine icons, while her sense of color resonates with the poetics of Marc Chagall. The Art Nouveau aesthetics and the work of Gustav Klimt inspire her with their elegance and subtle spirituality.
